AUANI collects the information it actually needs to run a food-ordering marketplace - nothing more. This page explains what we collect, why, who it's shared with, and how it differs depending on whether you're a Diner or a Vendor.
What information does AUANI collect?
If you're a Diner (placing an order)
- Guest checkout: name, delivery/pickup contact phone number, email, and delivery address if applicable. The phone number is required - it's how a Vendor reaches you about your specific order - and you'll see this disclosed with a consent checkbox at checkout before you submit an order.
- Account holders: the same information, saved to your account, plus your order history.
- Messages you send to a Vendor through AUANI's messaging system.
- Reviews you write after a completed, verified order.
- Payment details - handled entirely by Stripe. AUANI never sees or stores your full card number.
If you're a Vendor (running a storefront)
- Business details from your application: business name, address(es), contact info, and menu content.
- Your connected Stripe account information (via Stripe Connect), used to route your share of order payments to you.
- If you choose to connect them: your Google account (for optional Google Sign-In), your Google Business Profile (for the optional per-location "Google Verified" badge), and/or your Square or Clover point-of-sale account.
- Guest contact information for your own orders only - visible in your dashboard and exportable as a CSV, scoped strictly to orders placed with you. You cannot see or export another Vendor's guest data.
Who is this data shared with?
Only the services actually involved in making your order or storefront work - and only when that feature is in use:
| Service | What it's used for | What's shared |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payment processing, Vendor payouts (Stripe Connect) | Payment details, order totals, Vendor bank/payout info |
| Uber Direct | Delivery dispatch (only if delivery is selected) | Pickup/drop-off address, recipient name and phone |
| Optional Vendor sign-in; optional Google Business Profile connection | Account email (sign-in); business listing data (GBP) | |
| Square / Clover | Optional POS sync, only if a Vendor connects their own account | Order line items and prices |
AUANI does not sell personal data to third parties, and does not share Diner or Vendor data with any service beyond the ones listed above.
Where is my data actually stored?
In AUANI's own WordPress database, on infrastructure we control - not scattered across a patchwork of third-party analytics or marketing tools. The only outside destinations are the specific services above, and only for the specific purpose listed, and only when you or the Vendor you're dealing with actually use that feature.
Is messaging private?
Messages between a Diner and a Vendor are stored in AUANI's database so both sides can see their own conversation. They are not end-to-end encrypted, and AUANI administrators can access message content directly (for example, to investigate a dispute or a report of abuse). Messages are never shown to other Vendors or other Diners.
Are reviews public?
Yes. A review you submit is tied to your account but displayed publicly once it's approved (reviews require a verified, completed order and are moderated before going live). Don't include personal information in a review you wouldn't want public.
What can a Vendor see about me as a Diner?
A Vendor can see the order and contact details for orders placed with them specifically: name, phone, delivery address (if applicable), order contents, and any message you send them. A Vendor cannot see your activity with other Vendors, your account password, or your full payment card details.
How long is data kept?
We keep order, account, and message records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after, to meet standard recordkeeping, tax, and dispute-resolution needs. If you'd like your account data deleted, contact us at privacy@auani.com and we'll process it, subject to any records we're legally required to retain (for example, completed transaction records).
Can I request my data or ask that it be deleted?
Yes. Email privacy@auani.com with your request. We'll verify you're the account holder and respond within a reasonable time.
Does AUANI use cookies?
Yes, standard session and functionality cookies needed to keep you logged in, remember your cart, and keep checkout working. We don't use cookies to sell your data to ad networks.
Is AUANI directed at children?
No. AUANI is not directed at children under 13, and placing an order requires the legal capacity to enter into a purchase (in most places, being an adult or having a guardian complete the order on your behalf).
Can this policy change?
Yes. We'll update the effective date below when it does, and for material changes we'll try to give direct notice. Continuing to use AUANI after an update means you accept the revised policy.
